Mexication 2007
Early in October 2007 Kaufman SCUBA lead it’s first international Dive Trip. We went to one of our favorite haunts, Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. This is one of Melissa’s and I favorite destination in the world for several reasons. Puerto Aventuras is a small gated community in the heart of the Mexican Riviera. PA, as it is known by the locals, is the perfect base of operations for a carrribean trip. The Marina in PA is the heart of the action. It is a door way to every activity you want like diving, parasailing, deep sea fishing, to name a few. The marina is surrounded by shops and restaurants that wait to service your every need. We also visit PA for the great diving and to see our friends at Dive Aventuras.
This trip is going to be one the best we have ever taken. Joining us was Bobby Redman and Eric Fennewald. This would be their first dive trip and they trusted Kaufman SCUBA to all of the details. One of the great things about being a diver is going to tropical locations like this one.
Since the Mexican Riviera is only 3 hours away by air, we were able to fly out of St Louis and have a straight thru flight. After arriving at Cancun international airport we made our way to the rental car and started our short dive to Puerto Aventuras. Bobby and Eric enjoyed the ride with Melissa telling stories and pointing out interesting things along the road. When we got to our destination we went right to Dive Aventuras where we were welcomed by some familiar faces. Andres and Mike came out and got our SCUBA gear and stowed in the shop. We were lead over to our condo and got some time to relax and take in the beauty of our balcony view.
Our week was filled with some great diving and topside fun that could only be called “wonderful”. Every day of diving was filled with turtles, fish and gorgeous coral formations. I wish I could explain it all in words but I can’t. What I can do is invite you to join us on our next adventure to Mexico. Check out Bobbie and Eric’s comments below, and call us to plan a trip for you!.
